Greetings.

Welcome to the launch of The South Dakota Standard! Tom Lawrence and I will bring you thoughts and ideas concerning issues pertinent to the health and well-being of our political culture. Feel free to let us know what you are thinking.

Thanks to our supportive readers, The Standard is approaching its 5th year online and free to all. Can you help us keep going?

Thanks to our supportive readers, The Standard is approaching its 5th year online and free to all. Can you help us keep going?

The South Dakota standard turns five next month, thanks to our support from readers who appreciate our wide range of contributors, their insights and their opinions. We couldn’t be more pleased to provide a platform for voices from around the state. Tom Lawrence and I have never been shy about expressing our views and we relish the opportunity to give others the same chance to do so here on The Standard.

That our “hits” number in the tens of thousands every month is the only feedback we need to motivate us.

Along with that gratifying level of support is our appreciation of the financial contributions we get from our readers, which go a long way toward helping out with the costs and time it takes to maintain a blog like this.

As you know, we’ll never put a paywall between The Standard and its readers, so in order to keep moving forward, we depend on financial support from you. If you’d like to be part of our commitment to advance independent political and social commentary, you can do so easily and safely by clicking on the PayPal button to your right.

If you’d rather contribute with a check, please make it out to The South Dakota Standard and mail it ℅ John Tsitrian  6144 Wildwood Drive  Rapid City, SD 57702.

With Tom Lawrence, I’m thankful to our financial contributors and hopeful that readers who have not yet contributed will become part of the process that keeps this blog going.  John Tsitrian
