We have the assembly and sound permits.

We have the stage. We have the P.A. system.

We have the topics and the speakers.

Now, we need you!

Be there at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5.

We are gathering at the U.S. Courthouse at 12th Street and Phillips Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls.

“We are NOT OK” is the title of the event. It is part of nationwide protests led by Indivisible.

The local group is Indivisible605. It has a Facebook page.

The last event at the courthouse drew about 400. We are expecting more on Saturday. (Seen above is a March 14th rally in Rapid City, photo by John Tsitrian)

Bring your own signs. Bepared to chant LOUDLY!!!!

No violence. No threats. No foul language.

Join your voice with others as we protest the destruction of our government. Our democracy.

Bring friends. Bring family.

This could be the event which pressures Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Sen. Mike Rounds and Rep. Dusty Johnson to wake up and do something to save and protect us from harm.

Yes, Donald Trump has the title of president. But he is not acting presidential. His words and actions are those of an angry, confused, spiteful child.

He has surrounded himself with a cadre of equally flawed humans. The former governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem is one of them. She is creating publicity stunts.

So far, a few federal judges have ordered temporary stops to some of Trump ‘s destructive actions and antics.

Like a spoiled child he has verbally attacked them. His minions have joined  the chorus. These are dangerous words that could lead  to violence.

So far, elected folks in his cult of democracy destroyers have not said or done anything to stop him.

Protests are happening in large and small cities all over the country. Hopefully their loud voices will wake up and shake up those needing it.

See you in Sioux Falls Saturday at the U.S. Courthouse.

Rick Knobe is a former mayor of Sioux Falls and a longtime radio talk show host who is now retired but remains active and involved in his community and state as an independent political observer and commentator. His columns appear regularly on The South Dakota Standard.
